The Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the Western Hemisphere, with a permanent collection spanning more than 5,000 years of art across 17 curatorial departments. The main building on Fifth Avenue covers more than two million square feet and draws roughly five million visitors a year. The Met's collection includes Egyptian antiquities, European Old Masters, American decorative arts, and one of the finest collections of musical instruments in the world.
Special exhibitions rotate throughout the year and frequently sell out weeks in advance. Bus and motorcoach drop-off for groups is on 81st Street on the museum's north side, off Fifth Avenue — confirm current group arrival logistics with the Met's group services team before your visit.
